Introduction: Who we are
Shopping Centre Investments Limited (SCIL) is a Property Investment company that has the large retail complex, The Hub, Hornby as its main asset. This asset is identified as a regional shopping centre and is situated in the southwest catchment area of Christchurch.
The Hub Hornby has a large number of diverse and complimentary retail tenants, including anchor brands Farmers and Pak’n Save.
The Hub Hornby is strategically placed in the Hornby area with good parking and transport links.
The Hub Hornby is a focus for the local community and has an important social impact.
This local community identification is strengthened by the majority of current investors being Christchurch residents and the board members are also Christchurch residents.
Strategy Declaration
The Strategy as listed identifies a clear plan for growth with five key declarations.
1. TO IMPROVE THE VALUE OF THE INVESTMENT
- To maintain and develop this high-quality property in a key location within the Christchurch infrastructure.
- To attract and maintain a sustainable tenant base.
- To maintain a capital program of improvement.
2. IMPROVE SHAREHOLDER LIQUIDITY
- By having SCIL’s share quoted on the Unlisted Securities Exchange (USX)
3. INCREASE AWARENESS OF INVESTMENT
- To promote awareness of SCIL with Brokers operating in the Secondary Market.
4. MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE SHAREHOLDER RETURN
- An aim to maintain regular and timely dividend declarations subject to cash constraints and the Bank covenant requirements.
- Active program to attract new and sustainable tenants to result in greater rental income and a subsequent reduction in Landlord Opex obligations.
5. IMPROVE SUSTAINABILITY
- To operate to a high level of environmental responsibility with waste and resource use minimalization.
- To encompass new technologies as they are evolved.
THE HUB MANAGEMENT
For more than two decades, Colliers International has provided property management services to Shopping Centre Investments Ltd (SCIL) for The Hub Hornby. Centre Manager Jason Marsden has been a significant contributor to the success of this relationship.
